A shocking case of alleged animal cruelty has come to light from Hanamkonda district in Telangana, where around 300 dogs were reportedly killed over a span of three days. Police confirmed on Sunday that a case has been registered against nine individuals in connection with the incident.
According to a complaint filed on January 9 by animal welfare activists, stray dogs were allegedly poisoned in the villages of Shayampet and Arepally between January 6 and January 8. The activists accused the local Sarpanches and Gram Panchayat Secretaries of hiring two individuals to poison the dogs and later dumping their carcasses on the outskirts of the villages.
